I never imagined our last week of learning would be through online.  Welcome to the last week of distance learning lessons.   :)   I feel this is an extremely important week and I am encouraging everyone to take the time to complete each days work.  We are wanting to use these letters that you will be writing next year with our incoming 8th graders so it would be so helpful for as many of you as possible to participate.  Once you have completed your letter, please just e-mail it to me( Mrs. Wortman) and Mrs. Glascock.

The shortened version of the assignments are in the WORD document above (click on the date) but the power point contains more of an explanation.  Please look at both attachments.
Remember... if you are trying to improve your Q4 grade all work is due no later than Wednesday, May 13th.   I will not be accepting any work after that for grade recovery.

It has been an absolute pleasure to have each and everyone of you in my Reading class.   You all are truly wonderful students and I will miss you so much!   I look forward to seeing the awesome things you all will do in the future.

Covid plan April 13-17

Hey there to all of 8B!!
We are approaching week two of online learning.  I hope you had a wonderful Easter and weekend.
The link below will take you to this week's assignment. The lessons are broken down by the day.  We are working on character development as well as the essential elements of plot.  You should be able to spend about thirty minutes a day with these activities. Please email the reading portions to [email protected], while you send the writing portions to Ms. Glascock.  We will give you feedback on everything submitted.  Reminder that grades will NOT be given on the work you complete.  I will only be responding with feedback.  Thanks to everyone who has been working hard as we navigate this online learning!

Stay strong at home, and be looking for an email from me about a meeting Mrs. Glascock and I will be setting up later in the week.  I miss you all!

Covid-19 Week of April 4-6

As per RCS directive, each ELA/Literacy PLC group is going to be posting some activities to keep students engaged as long as we remain out of school. These activities are optional and students will NOT receive a grade for completing the assignment.  We are only allowed to issue feedback to students.
Please view the powerpoint and complete ALL of the assignment.  Be sure you email me ([email protected]) with the READING answers and then email Mrs. Glascock your WRITING portion.  I am looking forward to getting through this time and seeing all of you soon.
