Parents of Jazz Band Members,
As you know, our SCMS Jazz Band has been invited to perform for the Rutherford County Board of Education meeting on Thursday, April 25, as part of their "Spotlight on Education". This is a big honor for our students as they represent the music education programs in Rutherford County Schools.
Schedule:
3:00-3:45: Load Equipment
3:45-4:00: Transport students to RCS Central Office (school bus)
4:00-5:00: Unload Equipment, Set Up, Warm Up/Soundcheck
5:00-5:30: Perform for BOE meeting
5:30-6:00: Load Equipment
6:00-6:15: Transport students to nearby restaurant
6:15-7:30: Dinner
7:30-8:00: Transport students to SCMS (school bus)
Student Attire:
Band Shirt, Band Jacket, Khaki Pants, Black Dress Shoes
Equipment Transportation Help Needed:
We will need a few large covered vehicles to help transport equipment (music stands, drum set, amplifiers, large keyboard). Please meet at SCMS at 3:00 to load. Please reply to this email if you are able to help transport equipment.
Parent Attendance:
Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the performance. Just plan to arrive to the RCS Central Office around 4:30 to sign-in and find your seats. The board will take a brief intermission following the band's performance, so we do not have to stay for the entire meeting. Parents are encouraged to wear business or business casual attire.
Dinner:
Following our performance, we will travel to a nearby restaurant for dinner. So we can make a reservation, we need to know how many parents and family members may also like to attend. Everyone, including students, will be responsible for the cost of their own meal ($15-$20 each). The restaurant we choose will depend on the number of people planning to attend. Please respond by Monday, April 8.
