Hello and Welcome to my class in 903!

I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade students throughout my day with a differing focus for each class. The 1 common in all classes is Motivation Mondays and Success Thursdays.

Welcome! Check your grades regularly through Skyward using your assigned username and password. If you need assistance with your login information, visit or call our front office at (615)904-6700.

8th Grade: The focus in this class is introduction to ACT Prep and Testing Strategies, college and career research.    A great resource for ACT is www.act.org or www.actstudent.org
       Assignment #1: Spend some time taking Virtual Tours of Colleges and Universities on the website:
                                  https://www.youvisit.com/collegesearch/
Did you find a favorite? What is it? Why is your favorite? Research to find out if anyone famous earned their degree there. Who was it? Email me your responses, please.

7th Grade: This class corresponds with the lessons students are learning in their 7th grade math classes.
A great resource is to practice math facts is www.multiplication.com  Students can keep sharp on +, -, x, /. They can find practice assessments, Pre and Post Tests, math games and more!  I also like Math Antics and Khan Academy on YouTube for learning explanations.

6th Grade: This class focuses on Digital Citizenship, using Common Sense online curriculum.
A great resource is www.commonsense.org  Students can explore activities, games, lessons, etc.

Grading:

Classwork = 60%
Assessments = 40%

I DO NOT give Retakes. Students are given the Opportunity to improve any Assessment grade by making corrections and can earn up to 1/2 the points missed back for their final grade.
I DO NOT give Homework.  All classwork and assignments will be completed in class. IF a student does not complete their work in the allotted class time, the student may complete the work outside of the classroom and turn it in for a grade.
